How to Customise the Hold Music

Learn how to replace the default hold music with a custom audio file for each Romulus number.

When someone calls your Romulus number and waits for someone to answer, they hear hold audio. By default, a standard ringing tone is played, but you can replace it with a custom audio file β€” a music track, a welcome message, or a company presentation.

How to set up hold music

  1. From the side menu, click Phone Numbers.

  2. Click on the number you want to set hold music for.

  3. Go to the Settings tab.

  4. Find the Hold music section and click Edit.

  5. Upload the audio file you want to use.

  6. Save the changes.

From this point on, callers to that number will hear your custom audio while they wait.

Supported format

The audio file must be in MP3 format.

A few tips

  • Use a good quality audio file β€” it sounds better during the wait and makes a more professional impression.

  • Avoid files that are too long β€” the audio loops, so 30 to 60 seconds is more than enough.

  • A recorded company message works better than generic music β€” for example: "Thank you for calling [company name], an operator will be with you shortly."

Note

Hold music applies to the specific number it is configured on. If you have multiple numbers, you can set a different audio track for each one.
