With Romulus you can make and receive calls directly from the app on your computer or smartphone. This guide explains how to place a call, how incoming calls work, and what actions are available during a conversation.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
The Romulus app installed on your device (desktop or mobile)
At least one active phone number on your account
A working microphone with audio permissions granted to the app
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
Making an Outgoing Call
You can place a call in two ways from the Romulus app:
Option 1 — Dial pad
Open the dial pad in the app.
Type the number you want to call.
Press the green button to start the call.
Option 2 — Contact search
Search for a contact by name in your address book.
Tap or click the call button next to their name to start the call directly.
Receiving an Incoming Call
When a call comes in, the app displays a notification showing the caller's number or name (if they are saved in your contacts). Call notifications arrive even when the app is running in the background or the device is in standby.
Tap the green button to answer
Tap the red button to decline — the caller will be redirected to voicemail or the flow configured for your number
During a Call — Available Actions
While on a call, the following controls are available:

Mute | Disables your microphone — the caller cannot hear you |
Hold | Puts the caller on hold — they hear hold music until you resume |
Transfer | Transfers the call to another extension or external number (see below) |

Transferring a call
There are two ways to transfer a call:
Announced transfer — you speak with the recipient first to introduce the caller, then complete the transfer
Blind transfer — the call is transferred immediately, without prior notice to the recipient
